As I'm writing this, I'm somewhat in disbelief that we're in the beginning of spring here in Wisconsin. I have been anticipating the change of seasons but with that change always comes transitions that challenge us in new and old ways. As the snow thawed around our home, the joy to see more greenery and flowers budding seemed to diminish the weight of all of the fallen and dying trees that needed to be removed. And I couldn't help but think about how that perfectly illustrates the relaunching of my small business.
I am overjoyed to finally hold the naturally dyed goods that our team has been working on since last year. Including our newest offering: our silk robes. And with that joy comes an understanding that all of the time and effort put into these goods are a result of a collective effort that was birthed from a simple dream.
The change into the spring season seems to usher in the wind of possibility and highlight the work ahead too.
I had a very clear vision of what I wanted Vida Botanicals to become-- a community that shares naturally dyed and other goods conscious of you and the environment. This spring launch features two main natural dyes: Indigo and Turmeric. I will be launching other limited dye collections as time goes on. I've found that by limiting the color batches, I can limit our overall waste. Which is a big part of our goals here too.
Your purchase helps support local Latinx/e artisans and 10% of our proceeds are donated to local urban farms helping end food insecurity. We are have also partnered with local public schools serving BIPOC students and their sustainability efforts.
I hope you love our new collections and thank you for being a part of our mission.
Abrazos,
Keila
