Our silk pillowcase in subtle tie dye is made using 100% 19mm Charmeuse silk and peace silk thread. It is then dyed using Queen Anne's Lace, Goldenrod and minerals. It measures 18 x 30.5 inches long and fits most standard pillows.

About our materials and methods: We use a tie dye technique to create subtle feathering shapes on the material.

Queen Anne’s Lace is a magical plant that has been used for centuries for a variety of purposes. It is edible and is also known as a ‘wild carrot'. It has also been used to stimulate the uterus, and pregnant people should not use it because it may induce labor. You can find this plant growing wild all over Wisconsin, and locally, it is often considered an invasive species. It can be made into a tea and several cultures use it as a sweetener too. It has also been revered for its anti-depressant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Goldenrod is also considered a weed and wild flower. It can be used to treat head colds, inflammation and to clear the sinuses. You can make a tea out of both the leaves and the flower. If you are foraging these plants, please be aware of the bees and avoid cutting too many in the same area. Although they grow plentiful, we need to be conscious of the tiny wildlife that benefit from its gifts too. We like to cut the branches that have already fallen over. We use the same dye bath for our material, and it makes a range of colors, from vibrant yellows to deep forest greens. Please consult a medical professional before adding a new herb to your diet.

Care: Our pillowcases are handwashed several times in hypoallergenic clear soap, hung dry and then steamed before packaging. They can be dry cleaned or hand washed with cold water and mild soap then hung dry. Warm iron if needed on the silk/delicate setting.
